Electric Air is a New Zealand-based social enterprise operating the country’s first all-electric aircraft. Based at Rangiora Airfield and Christchurch Airport, the company offers trial flights and pilot training in the Pipistrel Alpha Electro, a 100% electric plane that produces no fossil fuel emissions and runs significantly quieter than combustion equivalents. Electric Air also set a world record for the longest flight over water by a battery-electric aircraft during a Cook Strait crossing. The team is now building software to support its operations, working with a stack of React (Remix), Django, and Postgres. A senior full-stack engineer joining now would work closely with the CTO and CEO to develop customer-facing sales tools and internal systems, helping shape the company’s engineering culture from the ground up.
